Fabricated in 2025 to drawings around a hundred years old, the driving wheel springs for Churchward’s 2-8-0 no. 4709, were delivered the the workshops at Tyseley at the beginning of July.
Four to a pallet, anyone familiar with preservation and steam locomotive springs in particular, will know how heavy these are. Now in stock, they will join a growing collection of components intended for 4709’s wheeling, anticipated for late 2025, or more likely early 2026.
